Utah's official status service is an exact-identity check. It is not a surname browser or an open list of everyone registered in Murray. Start at the Vote.Utah.gov registration gateway, then choose the voter-information route. Enter the person's current details as they appear in the state system. The official Utah voter registration form shows the mail and counter fields used to create or update the underlying record.

There is also an address-only route using street address, city, and ZIP. That route is useful for polling information tied to a Murray address, but it does not turn the state tool into a voter-roll directory. If an exact entry does not match, check recent address or name changes before contacting Salt Lake County Elections. Protected voters may still inspect their own registration through the official lookup.

Murray Voter Help by County

Murray is not Utah's election-record custodian. Salt Lake County Clerk Elections handles local registration checks, voter certificates, changes, cancellations, privacy questions, and county-list requests. The Salt Lake County elections service page is the official fallback when the statewide tool does not settle a Murray voter-status issue.

The county page connects Murray residents with local election contacts and services without exposing the full voter roll. Utah sells the statewide file, while the county handles requests for county or district extracts. No separate county-list fee is published, so ask Elections for the current charge and delivery method.

Note: Use the county channel for a local extract, since the Lieutenant Governor supplies statewide data rather than a Murray-only list.

What Murray Voter Records Reveal

Utah Code §20A-2-602 defines the statewide voter database and its public fields. For a public Murray registration, the authorized data can identify the voter, connect the voter to an address and precinct, and show the districts that shape the ballot. The age entry is a range, not the person's full birth date. The file also distinguishes active and inactive status and records when the registration entry was last updated.

This inventory can help distinguish two people with the same name while still withholding the most sensitive identity details. District fields can also confirm which local contests applied to a Murray address on a given record.

Murray Voting History Is Not Choice

Participation history is often misunderstood. A public record may report that a voter took part in a named election, but it cannot show how that person marked a ballot. The distinction holds for Murray voters in statewide files and the two pre-election reports. Secret-ballot choices do not become voter-record fields.

Does a participation entry reveal a candidate or position? No. It records only that the person participated. It should not be used to infer a private vote, and an election-data recipient must follow Utah's disclosure limits.

Murray Voter Privacy Boundaries

Several fields are withheld for every Utah voter. They include the full date of birth, driver-license number, state-ID number, Social Security number, signature, email address, and phone number. Starting in January 2027, a voter may choose to let the voter's affiliated political party receive a phone number or email. That consent does not make those details generally public.

The public/private split is specific to election records. A protected entry in the voter system does not remove the same address from every other government or commercial file. At-Risk Voter Protection in Murray

Utah now classifies voter records as public or at-risk. The protected group includes a victim or likely victim of domestic or dating violence, a law-enforcement officer, a person covered by a qualifying protection order, an armed-forces member, a statutory public figure, and a household member of someone in a listed group. Government entities acting in an official role may still receive the withheld data. Public aggregates may retain only nonidentifying city or county, age range, affiliation, and participation facts.

The official at-risk designation form asks for full name; an address or birth date to identify the registration; phone or email; an eligibility checkbox; date; and signature. Some applicants must explain the basis and may attach proof. An election official can seek verification. Submit the form to the county clerk or Lieutenant Governor by mail, email, or in person. For specified violence-related applicants and their household members, the narrative requirement is waived.

Note: At-risk status shields voter data, not matching details that may remain in another lawful record system.

How Murray Voter Rolls Change

A status can change without the voter vanishing from the system at once. Utah and Salt Lake County use National Change of Address data, returned mail, death records, mapping, and audit work. Missing a federal election cycle and failing to re-register can trigger inactive status and a confirmation notice. Continued inactivity through another federal cycle can lead to removal under National Voter Registration Act procedures.

The state publishes monthly NVRA additions, mail returns, and removals for two years. Public names and addresses appear where federal law requires them, while protected details are redacted apart from county. Detailed removals are available from November 2025 forward, with older additions planned. An inactive label has a process behind it. It is not the same as a private ballot choice or an instant cancellation.

Request Utah Voter Registration Data

The Lieutenant Governor's election-data request service distributes the authorized public portion of the statewide voter database. Murray entries sit within that Utah file. The one-time fee is $1,050. Delivery is a tab-delimited download of about 150 MB, usually emailed within one business day. It is not a subscription, refund, or promise of free updates. Some spreadsheet programs may cut off rows in a file that large.

1. Choose the statewide voter database through Utah's request endpoint, or ask Salt Lake County Elections for a county or district extract.
2. Complete the request statements accurately. The recipient must use and share the data only as Utah law permits.
3. Pay the stated statewide fee and prepare software that can read a large tab-delimited file. Ask the county for its current local fee.

Utah Code §20A-2-603 bars use outside an expressly allowed or otherwise lawful purpose. It also forbids knowingly posting the file online and unauthorized public redistribution, whether free or paid. A violation is a class A misdemeanor. A false statement in a request may also be punished under §76-8-504. Voter data must never be used to stalk, threaten, or harass a person.

Murray Election Data Price Choices

The full voter file is not the only data product. Utah offers two narrower pre-election reports for $35 each. Both are sent daily from 21 days before an even-year regular primary or general election through the day before Election Day. These reports exclude at-risk identities and serve a different purpose from a static statewide roll.

The $35 reports tell whether an election process event occurred, not whom a Murray voter supported. The statewide roll costs far more because it carries the full set of releasable fields across Utah. None of the products includes at-risk identifying data.

Murray Voter Records in Archives

Current lookup tools should not be treated as a complete historical register. Utah Archives permanently retains historical voter records as Series 28818, but the research inventory does not confirm a directly searchable Murray poll-book or registration series or reliable local coverage years. That gap matters for family history. It is better to ask Archives about a named series than to assume old Murray names can be searched online.

State public voter-information pamphlets from 1975 forward are documented in Utah Archives Series 21810. Those pamphlets preserve election information, not a person-by-person ballot record. For old registration material, provide the person's name, approximate dates, Murray address, and likely precinct when contacting the archives. The absence of a web index does not prove the paper record never existed.

Note: No verified Murray poll-book years were found, so request archival series help instead of relying on an invented local date range.
